From now onwards, e-mail notifications seem to arrive with every change in status. I have something in review in a journal using this system. Any guesses? Thanks in advance…. I have communicated my article to one Elsevier journal. I am confused regarding this status? What does it signify, kindly answer me? I imagine that it may be something to do with the editor revising what is visible to their view of your manuscript without it changing anything you can see e.
First, thank you for the post. I just submitted to JML and was searching their site for something like this. Second, I suspect that you are correct that as reviewer comments come in, the manuscript submission gets updated hence a date change without a change of status. Doudouh, I think now you may know your answer. I have the same problem. My best guess is that a reviewer declined or the editor invited another reviewer, which probably caused the EES to update the specifics of the status who is reviewing the manuscript, invisible to the authorswithout updating the status itself Under Review.
Thanks Akira. For this question I have asked Elsevier by their Live Chat. Please note that it is also possible that, your manuscript was sent out for review BEFORE the date you saw, but somehow, maybe the requested reviewer did not confirm the invitation, so that your editor sent out a request again. Are these statuses from the same manuscript or are you comparing across journals?
I have submitted a paper to a journal since november. Now the status is Required Reviews Completed. Good luck! I want to ask a question. Now the status is decision in process. It is a good or a bad new for me? Essentially et means that the editor is currently looking at the reviewers comments and entering the decision-letter into the system. Your should hear something rather soon. It might mean the following: Accept, Provisional accept, Revise and resubmit, Reject and resubmit or Reject.
However, the exact status would depend upon each journal. All of these processes might or might not be followed by a particular publishing house and thus a direct accept or reject could be a quick decision.Once production of your article has started, you can track the status of your article via Track Your Accepted Article. Benefits of publishing in Brachytherapy.I am a 2nd year PhD student starting my 3rd year soon. For the past 7 months, I've been struggling with finding an appropriate journal for my hopefully first article.
However, one journal suggested that we need to improve the paper. Now a journal has accepted to review our paper, and here are the status changes of the paper:. I don't know if I should send the Editorial Team a polite reminder, because many similar threads say that that I should wait a little longer, but considering my circumstances the context that I've described earlierI feel that I've wasted a lot of time on this one project.
Asked by User Nabil on 22 Aug, Once a manuscript is submitted to a journal, the journal editor carries out a preliminary assessment before sending it to external peer reviewers.
In your case, it seems that the manuscript has cleared the editorial assessment and has already undergone a peer review. It is likely that the editor is assessing the peer review comments and will arrive at a decision regarding your manuscript soon.
I understand that you urgently need to get your manuscript accepted in a journal. In this situation, you can send a follow-up email to the journal to have a clear picture of the progress.
You should receive the final decision soon. Answered by Editage Insights on 29 Aug, Confirm that you would also like to sign up for free personalized email coaching for this stage.

It only takes a minute to sign up. Does this mean my article was rejected? Why there isn't any "Complete and send review" for the second reviewer? And why is the status of the article "Decision Pending"?
My reading is that the associate editor has rejected the article and it just has to be formalized by either the editorial staff or the editor-in-chief. Thank you for all of your answers and comments. Generally, the Associate Editor of a journal makes a recommendation about whether the paper should be accepted or rejected.
In your case, the AE has recommended a rejection. However, the final decision is taken by the EIC. That is why the status is still showing "Decision pending. However, in some exceptional cases, the EIC might review the manuscript himself and give a different decision. However, such cases are extremely rare, and you should be mentally prepared for a rejection. I think it's not necessarily a reject. I saw the same status on one of my papers for 2 days and finally it was a minor revision.
My paper status changed from "under review" to "Ready for decision" to "Decision pending" and finally "Revision requested". I think if an associate editor rejects, EIC will never go for a minor revision. Additionally, after reviewing the comments of reviewers i realized that it should be a minor revision Rev1: Accept, Rev2: Some minor things relate to text and format, rev3: Few suggestions.
